Cute as a Button

This week's challenge is to use buttons on our cards. I used the stamp set from Stampin up and then added buttons to the flower balloons. I am not big on using buttons but really did enjoy this challenge.
I just came back from Regionals with Stampin Up and I will post my swaps. Regionals was a lot fun- met some great people.

You say it's your Birthday!

It has been a long time since I have posted. When I went in for a simple gallbladder removal, it turned out to be much more! I haven't been able to craft since May- but I am back and ready to roll! A big thank you to all my Corrossive Challenge friends for the support.

This month our sponsor is Saturated Canary!
The challenge for the first week in August is You say it's your Birthday. Create a birthday themed card.

I used Party Hardy from our sponsor. I love this image, I coloured her with pencil and copics. I added some bling to the cupcake and used Stampin Up Party Hearty stamp because , well it just fit. It is hard to see but she is all in blues, yellows and greens(my next goal is to use my camera properly).

Tim Holtz- The Man, The Myth,The Legend

This week over at the Corrosive Challenge is to create a card using Tim Holtz products. You know, I have watched him on you tube demonstrating and have bought his stamps and inks but I still struggle. This is my first attempt trying to get the "Tim Hotlz" look. I used distress inks and smeared them on a placemat, I then added water and laid my paper into the ink to get the background colour. I used this stamp collection from his ideaology set(I really like the dude image). I am in for gallbladder surgery on May 1st and hopefully that will put an end to my stomach problems- Fingers crossed!

Hit the Bottle!

Hit the Bottle!

This week's corrosive challenge is to" hit the bottle" Now I know what everyone is thinking- what a great challenge the cards will look like crap because we are all loopy from drinking but sadly it isn't that kinda of challenge. You are to use anything that comes in a bottle for crafting. Examples would be stickles, liquid pearls, etc. For this card I used Stampin Up's upsy daisy set(still one of my fave sets) and bleach. The card is old navy, basic black, whisper whire and crumb cake, all Stampin up. A very basic but effective card. I am now off to really "hit the bottle" enjoy the challenge!

Heavy Metal!

Well, I can't believe it is April already! We ended March off with snow, but it is looking much better now. April is Autism Awarness Month and I will be posting about all the fun things the family is doing to celebrate. We are starting off by wearing our shirts to works on Monday whuch say I Love someone with Autism and lighting our house with blue lights(tells everyone someone lives here with Autism).

On with the challenge, this month's sponser is Dilly Beans and I have to say I really like her images. This week at the corrosive challenge is Heavy Metal, so adorn your card with some metal. I used some hodgepodge hardware from Stampin Up and made some metal butterflies to attach to go along with her hair. I have been pretty sick for the last three weeks and my team mate Regan chose this awesome image for me- Thanks so much she was fun to colour.

Give Piece a chance!

This week over at the Corrosive Challenge was to give piece a chance. I used Crissy's prom from this month's sponserSassy Studio Designs. I really only learned how to piece images about a year ago and only do it occasionally, so I was happy when this challenge came due. I really liked this image and" pieced her prom dress and added a corsage to her waist. I thought she looked a little goth like so I gave her black and gray hair. I used Stampin Up paper from the Sale-a-bration cattie and the saying "celebrate your fabulousness" is from Stampin up's Hattitude set. On a side note, I have gotten a surgey date to have my gallbladder removed-May 1st- only a couple of months of this bland diet and maybe I can start to feel normal again. I hope everyone joins in the challenge and "give piece a chance"!

Add a Dimension

This week's corrosive challenge was to add a dimension to a card. I made this ruffle "Hope" card. All the ruffles are lifted by spots of tape and the butterfly is lifted by a pop dot. I know that this card is for Breast Cancer awarness but I think it should celebrate "hope" for all cancers. I never did get all the different colours, I have overcome brain cancer which is a gray ribbon(not the best colour in my opinion) So lets lift up" hope" not just this month but every month of the year.
